Super Falcons captain Asisat Oshoala scored twice as Barcelona Femeni recorded a 6-0 win over FC Rosengaard in their final Group D game in the UEFA Women’s Champions League on Wednesday.
The Blaugrana had already secured their passage into the quarter-finals after a 6-2 bashing of Benfica Women last week.
Barcelona didn’t waste time against the group’s bottom team at Camp Nou on Wednesday, with Oshoala opening proceedings in the 10th minute.
The Nigerian forward – who was recently given the Pichichi award for finishing as the top scorer with 20 goals in the Spanish women’s top-flight last season – added her second of the night six minutes later with Mariona Caldentey providing her with the assist.
Barcelona still had time for one more goal in the first-half through Maria Leon. The reigning Spanish champions resumed with Fridolina Rolfo netting the fourth two minutes after the restart.
Caldentey provided another assist, this time for Marta Torrejon Moya in the 50th minute and Jonatan Giraldez’s ladies completed the rout in the 69th minute via Irene Paredes Hernandez.
Oshoala was taken off in the 81st minute and replaced with Vicky Lopez.
Barcelona closed their group campaign with 15 points level with Bayern Munich, however, with a better head-to-head record and a very superior goal difference.
Oshoala’s brace stretched her tally to four goals in the Champions League this season after netting twice earlier in the group opener against Benfica which ended 9-0.
Barcelona are top of La Liga Femenino after 12 games, seven points clear of Levante Women.
Oshoala has played 11 times this season, scoring four goals.
