Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala extended her remarkable goalscoring record with a hat-trick in Barcelona’s 6-0 rout of UDG Tenerife on Sunday.
The 28-year-old made it two hat-tricks in two league games after netting three times in the Catalan Queens’ 7-0 demolition of FC Levante Las Planas last Wednesday.
The 2022 African Women’s Player of the Year got the nod to lead Barca’s attack for the second game in a row, and she justified her selection by finding the back of the net thrice within 19 minutes.
She doubled her side’s lead with a close-range header in the 8th-minute after Claudia Pina had put them ahead three minutes earlier.
Oshola’s second of the game came four minutes later with another header thanks to an assist from Ana-Maria Crnogorcevic, who was making her 100th appearance for the Catalans.
The former FC Robo forward wrapped up her brilliant performance with a third goal in the 27th minute.
Aitana Bonmati got the fifth goal with a brilliant backheel strike on the brink of halftime. Although it took a while, Lionesses’ defender Lucy Bronze headed home the sixth goal of the game in second-half stoppage time.
Oshoala’s hat-trick took her goal tally for the season to 17 goals in 20 matches in all competitions, including 13 goals in 15 league matches. The lethal forward has now found the back of the net nine times in her last four games.

The treble of goals brought the Ikorodu-born forward’s goal tally for Barcelona to 98, making her the club’s fourth-highest scorer.
The Catalan Queens also improved to 51 consecutive wins in the league after setting the record for most wins in a row (50) of any professional team, male or female, with their thrashing of Las Planas.
Barcelona Femeni are currently unbeaten in the Spanish league with 48 points, 16 wins from 16 games, and they have scored a whooping 64 goals and conceded just four times.
They will face the 7th-place Valencia momen next on Wednesday.
