Super Eagles duo Paul Onuachu and Joe Aribo could not save Southampton from Premier League relegation as they suffered 2-0 defeat against Fulham on Saturday.
Onuachu who joined from Belgian club Genk in January, was on parade for 62 minutes but could help the Saints end their 10-game winless run.
Since his signing at the start of the year, Onuachu has played 11 Premier League matches but he is yet to break his duck.
His compatriot Joe Aribo, who joined from Scottish club Rangers last summer, was an unused substitute in Saturday’s game at St Mary’s Stadium.
Aribo has a record of two goals in 20 matches for the Saints with his last league appearance dating back to April 15 against Crystal Palace.
Southampton are the first team to be relegated from the English top-flight this season as they are rooted at the bottom with 24 points from 36 matches.
Ruben Selles’ men will hope to end their disappointing 2022-23 campaign on a winning note with games against Brighton & Hove Albion and Liverpool to come on May 21 and May 28 respectively.
