Former Super Eagles captain Jay-Okocha has advised Napoli striker Victor Osimhen to maintain his hunger for success as he closes in on lifting the Serie A title.
Napoli need either a win or a draw against Udinese on Thursday to seal their third league title in history and first since 1990.
Osimhen has contributed immensely to the Partenopei’s charge for Serie A success this season with his tally of 26 goals in all competitions, and he leads the league’s scoring chart with 21 goals in 26 matches.
During a chat with Afrosport TV on Thursday, Okocha said: “My advice is for him to remain grounded and keep that passion he’s got. It is clear that he plays with hunger, that’s what I like about him. He should never let that hunger go away no matter what.”
Okocha, during his playing career, was famous for dribbling skills across Europe with the 49-year-old having stints at Eintracht Frankfurt, Fenerbahce, Borussia Neunkirchen, Bolton Wanderers and Paris Saint-Germain.
Osimhen started his professional career at Wolfsburg in 2017 and has previously played in three European countries (Germany, Belgium and France) without tasting any domestic or international title.
Napoli have lost only three games in 32 league matches this season and they hold a 15-point lead above second-placed Lazio with six matches left to play for.
