Ethan Nwaneri scored his second Premier League goal of the season as Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw by Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex stadium on Saturday, Afrosport reports.
The game started with both teams on the neck of each other before the Nwaneri slotted home Mikel Merino’s pass to put Arsenal ahead in the 16th minute.
Brighton however squandered their biggest chance to draw level in the first half after Simon Adingra failed to finish from Matt O’Riley’s pass.
Arsenal almost doubled the lead after Nwaneri’s corner hit the outside of the post after which Gabriel Jesus headed Declan Rice’s corner over.

Arsenal came close again once more in the second half through another Rice corner after Merino could not convert the chance.
Few moments later, Brighton were awarded a penalty after William Saliba headbutted Joao Pedro who made no mistake in slotting the ball past David Raya to put his side level.
The intensity of the game grew as substitutes Yankuba Minteh and Karou Mitoma almost completed a comeback for the host but could not convert the chance.
Brighton are now without a win in their last eight league games while Arsenal have stretched their away unbeaten tally in the league to six games and remain second in the standings.
