The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has rescheduled the matchday three fixture between Bendel Insurance and Shooting Stars, Afrosport reports. to Sunday, 2nd October 2024.
Insurance were earlier scheduled to host the Oluyole Warriors on Sunday, September 22, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin.
However, the match will now be played on Sunday, October 2, at the same venue, as the decision to move the fixture forward became pertinent due to the original date clashing with the 2024 governorship election in Edo State, where there will be restriction on human and vehicular movements.
Insurance haven’t particularly started the season well with one win and a draw from their opening two games, which puts them in 15th place in the standings, after suffering a 2-1 defeat at Katsina United on opening day, before being held to a goalless draw at home by Rivers United on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Shooting, who are unbeaten, are ninth with two draws after playing 1-1 away at Nasarawa United in their season opener, as well as another 1-1 draw with visiting Plateau United on Sunday in Ibadan.
Other NPFL games for the weekend will still go ahead as scheduled, with Lobi Stars hosting Rivers United and El-Kanemi Warriors visiting Nasarawa United.
