Ahmed Musa scored late on Saturday as Kano Pillars secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Niger Tornadoes in a thrilling matchday 18 clash in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Afrosport reports.
Kano Pillars took the lead in the 30th minute through a well-taken strike by Rabiu Alhassan, but Niger Tornadoes drew level in the 60th minute, courtesy of Mohammed Aliyu.
The game was heading towards a stalemate, but former CSKA Moscow and Leicester City forward Musa popped up with a dramatic winner in the third minute of second-half stoppage time.
Pillars are now seventh in the NPFL standings with 25 points, while Tornadoes are eighth, a point shy of the hosts.

In Saturday’s other games, Promise Awosanmi’s 84th-minute winner helped Sunshine Stars beat El-Kanemi Warriors 1-0 and move into 13th in the standings with 21 points.
Bendel Insurance edged Lobi Stars 1-0 thanks to an 83rd-minute goal from Isaac Annor at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, Edo State, as the Benin Arsenals climbed into 16th, having amassed 21 points.
