Newly-promoted Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Sporting Lagos have officially unveiled Junior Lokosa.
The prolific forward was previously on the books of Remo Stars during the recently-concluded 2022-23 NPFL season, helping them to the playoffs where they finished in second place behind champions Enyimba and secured a place in the CAF Champions League for the very first time next season.

The former Kano Pillars player was however drawn to the prospect of playing for Sporting Lagos who reportedly offered him a salary of ₦700,000 per month. He has also reportedly signed a pre-contract with Danish third-tier outfit Aarhus Fremad which is owned by Sporting Lagos owner Shola Akinlade.
Lokosa was unveiled before fans during Sporting Lagos’ Naija Super 8 semi-final clash with Akwa United at the Onikan Stadium on Friday. The game ended 2-1 in favour of Sporting and will now face Remo Stars in the final on Sunday.
Lokosa is the second player Sporting Lagos have signed ahead of the upcoming NPL season after Olisema Ekene from Warri Wolves.
They gained promotion to the NPFL for the first time by securing one of the two spots during the National National League (NNL) playoffs last season.
It marks an astonishing feat for the club that only began playing in the Nigerian second tier last year after being set up by Paystack co-founder Akinlade in the same period.
