Abba Adam scored a brace as Kano Pillars defeated Enyimba 2-0 in a rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) match-day 14 encounter at the Sani Abacha stadium on Thursday, Afrosport reports.
Usman Abdallah’s Pillars were the better side right from the blast of the whistle and they made their dominance count in the 26th minute when Adam broke the deadlock off a beautiful assist from Ibrahim Inuwa.
Despite trailing at half-time, Enyimba still did not do enough to trouble the defence line of the hosts, who had further attempts at the other end.
Adam would net his second goal of the day, his fourth goal of the season in the 72nd minute after a defensive mix-up in the visitors’ box.
The People’s Elephants have now failed to score in their last five outings, and dropped to eighth after the defeat.
First defeat for Enyimba in #NPFL25 since a 1-0 loss at El-Kanemi Warriors on October 20
