NPFL instructs Niger Tornadoes to choose new home ground

Niger Tornadoes have been mandated by the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) to select an alternative venue for their home games, Afrosport reports.

The league body took this decision due to the poor state of the Bako Kontagaro Stadium’s playing surface.

The NPFL revealed that the ground falls short of the club licensing requirement, with several clubs having complained about the poor condition of the stadium this season.

Tornadoes, meanwhile, picked the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna as their alternative home ground, but the NPFL revealed that the pitch is also in need of adequate maintenance.

The Minna-based club, which must now select an alternative home ground from the list of approved NPFL stadiums, will only be granted permission to return to the Bako Kontagaro Stadium when the playing surface and other facilities are in optimal condition.
