Rivers United have announced the appointment of former Super Eagles handler, Finidi George as their new head coach.
George, on Wednesday signed a two-year deal, replacing long-serving tactician, Stanley Eguma who was relieved of his duties towards the end of the just concluded season.
He will be officially unveiled on Thursday.
After putting pen to paper, the 53-year-old expressed readiness to get started and appreciated the former NPFL champions.
He said: “I am honored to have this opportunity, and I thank the sports commissioner, the general manager, and the supporters for their confidence in me. I am committed to working hard and making the team win.”

The former Ajax winger led two-time CAF Champions League winners, Enyimba to the Nigeria Premier Football League, (NPFL) title in the 2022-23 season.
He recently left his role as the Super Eagles coach after overseeing two games in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
As a player, Finidi was part of the Africa Cup of Nations winning Super Eagles team in 1994. He also won the UEFA Champions League with Ajax in 1995.
