Akwa United have re-appointed Kennedy Boboye as head coach until the end of the season, replacing Mohammed Babaganaru who left after a poor run of form, Afrosport reports.
The coach signed all contract formalities on Monday, and he is expected to resume later in the week.
Club chairman, Paul Bassey who confirmed the appointment, said Boboye’s return to the team is necessary, adding that the decision to reappoint the coach was due to his track records and previous achievements with the club.
Paul Bassey expressed optimism that Boboye will bring his wealth of experience to bear on the team.

He was in charge of the Promise Keepers when they won the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) in the 2020-21 season.
He also led them to their debut CAF Champions League appearance in 2021.
The former Sunshine Stars and Plateau United tactician has a task of ensuring that Akwa United maintain their top-flight status this season.
United are currently 19th on the log with 19 points after 19 games and have won just four times in their last 13 games.
