The Nigeria cricket national team will participate in a six-nation tournament in Kenya from June 2.

The tournament will feature Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Cameroon, Mali and Burkina Faso and serve as final preparation ahead of the West African ACA (Africa Cricket Association) Cup that Nigeria will host in Abuja later in June and also feature the aforementioned teams.

On the female side, the women’s national team will soon be back in training as they prepare for the Kwibuka tournament in Rwanda also in June.

The female Yellow-Greens were recently crowned champions at the Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) Women’s T20 invitational at the Tafawa Balewa Square Oval in Lagos last month, beating Rwanda by nine runs in the final.

Uganda, Tanzania, Botswana, Namibia and Kenya are scheduled to participate in the tournament.

In the youth category, the U-19 male cricket national team will embark on a two-week training in India in preparation for the final round of the U-19 Cricket World Cup qualifiers in Tanzania in July.
