Nigeria squad unveiled for 2023 Africa  Women’s Volleyball Championship

Head coach of the Nigeria senior women’s volleyball team, Samuel Ajayi, has unveiled the squad for the 2023 Africa Women’s Volleyball Championship.

The 12-player list was announced by the Nigerian Volleyball Federation (NVBF) on Sunday and contains regular names  such as NSCDC duo of Albertina Francis and team captain Comfort Amonwu, Ijeoma Ukpabi of COAS Spikers as well as Sharon Achi and Libero Jummai Bitrus.

There new faces in the squad include Aliyat Usman, Venesa Okike, Deborah Chukwu, Blessing Unkwe and Kelechi Ndukauba while the the CNS Spikers quartet of Mercy Promise, Elizabeth Ilesanmi, Mariam Usman and Aisha Abdulraheem, the COAS Spikers trio of Charity Sylvester, Sarah Ali and Ifeoma Mordi and Kada Emeralds duo of Naomi Yaro and Dorathy Joseph were all dropped from the team.

The 2023 African Senior Women’s Volleyball Championship, which is the 21st edition of the competition, is scheduled to hold in the Cameroon capital city of Yaounde from August 14 to 29.
