Former Chelsea forward Demba Ba has called on Nicolas Jackson to continue silencing his critics after starring in the Blues’ 5-0 bashing of West Ham United in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Senegalese forward scored a brace that took him to 13 Premier League goals this season, none of which are penalties and puts him ahead of teammate Cole Palmer and former Chelsea stars Mohamed Salah and Kai Havertz.
Despite these numbers, Nicolas Jackson has come under scrutiny from fans and pundits for his profligacy in front of goals but Ba sent a message of support to his compatriot on X.
“Football is crazy,” Ba said in the post. “Nicolas Jackson was a doubt in people’s mind after missing couple chances in a game few weeks ago.
“All of a sudden, he became a great footballer/goalscorer. Keep doing your thing and shining my little brother.”
