NFF mourns with Nwabali over mother’s demise

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has sent a condolence message to Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali following the passing of his mother, Afrosport reports.

On Wednesday, Nwabali revealed the death of his mother on X. Furthermore, the past few weeks has been difficult for the Nigerian as he also announced the demise of his father less than two months back.

The heartbreaking news of his father came in as he was preparing to feature for the Super Eagles in the AFCON 2025 qualifier with Rwanda in Uyo in mid-November.

However, the NFF urged the 28-year-old to stay strong during this hard time as they showed support to him.

The Statement from the NFF on X read: “Our heartfelt condolences to Stanley Nwabali on the loss of his mother. Stay strong, Stanley. sending you strength and support during this difficult time. You are not alone; we are all with you.”


Nwabali has been a huge favourite among Super Eagles supporters after starring at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast where Nigeria finished as runners-up.
