Ndidi apologises to Leicester City fans after Premier League relegation

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has written an apology to Leicester City fans following their relegation from the Premier League.

Leicester City finished 18th in the league table with 34 points from 38 matches and will compete in the Championship next season.

It was a daunting campaign for Ndidi who endured injury woes on several occasions during the campaign and he struggled to hit top form for the Foxes who had two managers [Brendan Rodgers and Dean Smith] in the season.

The Nigeria international played 27 league matches this campaign, which included 19 starts and he averaged 2.3 successful tackles in a Premier League game.

Ndidi’s message to the club faithful also appreciated their support, even as they ended the league season with just nine wins.

He wrote on Instagram: “I would like to offer my sincerest apologies for the team’s relegation. Gutted that we couldn’t make it in the end. We understand how much you invested in supporting us throughout the season, and we deeply regret letting you down. Please know that your unwavering support is invaluable to us, and we are grateful for your loyalty to the club. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.”
