Orlando Magic forward Franz Wagner and Sacramento Kings guard De’Aaron Fox have been named the NBA Players of the Week for Week 4 of the 2024-25 season, Afrosport reports.

Wagner led Orlando to a 3-0 record in the week under review to win the Eastern Conference Player of the Week award for the first time in his NBA career.
The 23-year-old averaged 30.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 5.7 assists across three games as the Magic recorded wins over the Charlotte Hornets, Indiana Pacers, and Philadelphia 76ers. The German is currently averaging 22.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game across 15 games this season while shooting 47.1% from the floor.
He fended off competition from seven other stars in the East: Giannis Antetokounmpo (Bucks), Cade Cunningham (Pistons), Dyson Daniels (Hawks), Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell (Cavs), Jayson Tatum (Celtics) and Karl-Anthony Towns (Knicks).

Meanwhile, Fox was rewarded for his spectacular performances this week with the Western Conference award, his sixth with the Kings, as he passed DeMarcus Cousins (5) for the second-most Player of the Week honours in franchise history.
The 2023 Clutch Player of the Year averaged 40.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game to help Sacramento to a 2-2 record as they overcame the Phoenix Suns and Utah Jazz while falling to the San Antonio Spurs and Minnesota Timberwolves.

Across 15 games this season, Fox is averaging 28.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 5.7 assists, shooting 50.6% from the field. He beat seven others to the award in the West: Stephen Curry (Warriors), Anthony Davis and LeBron James (Lakers), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams (OKC), Alperen Sengun (Rockets) and Shaedon Sharpe (Trail Blazers).
