Ten-time NBA All-Star James Harden finally gets his wish as his time with Daryl Morey and the Philadelphia 76ers comes to an end.
The 76ers reportedly agreed on Tuesday to trade Harden to the Los Angeles Clippers, bringing an end to the summer-long rift with the Sixers’ president of basketball operations.
Harden, the league’s reigning assists champion, asked to be traded after his offseason disagreement with Morey, with the Clippers initially earmarked as both his preferred destination and only interested suitor.
According to ESPN, the Clippers will receive Harden, PJ Tucker, and Filip Petrusev in the deal, with the Sixers being sent Marcus Morris, Robert Covington, Nic Batum, KJ Martin, a 2028 unprotected first-round pick, two second-round picks, a 2029 pick swap, and another first-round pick that will come through an unspecified third team.

The Sixers acquired Harden in 2022 in an exchange involving a similarly discontent former All-Star, Ben Simmons, who moved to the Brooklyn Nets. The trade also marked the second time the 2018 regular season MVP has forced his way out of a team, having done so in 2020 while with the Rockets.
The 34-year-old will join up with former Houston Rockets teammate Russell Westbrook in Los Angeles, as well as two of the league’s best players, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, as he continues his push for his first ever championship.
