The Western Conference heavyweight matchup between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Phoenix Suns headlined the four games played in the NBA on Thursday night, Afrosport reports.
The Clippers (2-3) fell to the Suns 125-119 at Intuit Dome for their second straight defeat, while Phoenix clinched their third consecutive win to improve to 4-1.

James Harden recorded his first triple-double of the season, finishing with 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 13 assists. Ivica Zubac grabbed 12 boards to add to his 22 points, and Norman Powell scored 23 points.
The Suns, however, prospered off Devin Booker’s season-high 40-point performance as the Olympic gold medallist added eight assists and five rebounds to record the 33rd 40- or more-point game of his career. Kevin Durant scored 18 points, Ryan Dunn had 16, and Royce O’Neale erupted for 21 points and seven rebounds as a substitute.

Ja Morant registered his first triple-double of the season and the 12th of his career to lead the Grizzlies with 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 14 assists. Santi Aldama got 19 points; Jaylen Wells and Scottie Pippen Jr. each added 16 points, and Jaren Jackson Jr. poured in 13 points for Memphis, whose five starters ended with double figures.

The Bucks, led by Doc Rivers, are winless in four straight games and lost their third consecutive road game. They, however, were led by Giannis Antetokounmpo, who finished with a 37-point and 11-rebound double-double, his fifth of the season.
Meanwhile, Brook Lopez (12) and Bobby Portis Jr. (11) were the only other Milwaukee players in double figures as Damian Lillard had a poor shooting night, finishing with four points in 33 minutes.

Elsewhere, the San Antonio Spurs put an end to their two game losing run with a 106-88 win over the Jazz at Delta Center in Utah to improve to 2-3 for the season.
San Antonio were led by Victor Wembanyama’s game-high 25 points with the French star adding nine rebounds, seven assists, five steals and five blocks. Chris Paul added 19 points and 10 assists, while Keldon Johnson got 13 points off the bench.

At the American Airlines Center in Dallas, the Mavericks fell 108-102 to the Houston Rockets, ending their two-game winning streak.
Luka Doncic finished with a game-high 29 points for Dallas and Kyrie Irving added 28 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.
Meanwhile, Jalen Green led the Rockets with 23 points and 12 rebounds, Turkish Center Alperen Sengun finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Dillon Brooks (17) and Tari Eason (15) combined for 32 points.
