NBA: Orlando Magic’s Banchero sidelined indefinitely with muscle injury

Orlando Magic forward, Paolo Banchero has been sidelined indefinitely due to a right oblique abdominal muscle tear, Afrosport reports.

The team-leading scorer was injured during the fourth quarter of Magic’s 102-99 loss to the Chicago Bulls 102-99 on Wednesday.

Although he played until the end, the medical staff initially called a right abdominal strain, but the injury was determined to be worse after further testing.

Orlando noted that he will be re-evaluated in four to six weeks as his return to the court will depend on how he responds to treatment.

The player who turns 22 on November 11 was averaging 29.0 points, 8.8 rebounds and 5.6 assists in the Magic’s five games so far this season.

The Magic’s five-game road trip continues on Friday night when they take on the Cleveland Cavaliers at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
