NBA all-time leading scorer LeBron James has announced that he is going off social media “for the time being”, Afrosport reports.
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar made the announcement after he shared a screenshot of a lengthy October 24 X post from NBA agent Rich Kleiman about the negativity in sports coverage.
James, whose public image has been at the centre of consistent social media trolls and criticism, responded to Kleiman’s post with AMEN!!

The 39-year-old afterwards posted: “And with that said I’ll holla at y’all! Getting off social media for the time being. Y’all take care.”
James’ departure comes shortly after NFL franchise Atlanta Falcons’ social media team announced they, too, were taking a break to take care of their mental health, rest and prepare for the conclusion of the regular season.
And with that said I’ll holla at y’all! Getting off social media for the time being. Y’all take care ✌🏾👑

It is not the first time LeBron James has taken time off social media, having cultivated the habit towards the NBA playoffs before returning.
He has averaged 23.5 points, 9.4 assists and 8.1 rebounds per game this season and recently recently racked up four consecutive triple-doubles which is the longest stretch of his NBA career.
