LeBron James hailed his son Bronny and his first-ever NBA basket as an “unbelievable moment”, Afrosport reports.
The 20-year-old Cleveland-born shooting guard scored his first NBA basket in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 134-110 defeat against LeBron’s former team Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night.
Bronny, who was the 55th overall pick by the Lakers in the 2024 NBA draft, made history last week when he entered the court in the Lakers’ season-opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves, becoming the first-ever father-son duo to play on an NBA court.
Reacting to the historic moment, LeBron said: “To see him get his first NBA basket in this arena, where he grew up not too far from here – it’s an unbelievable moment.”

Meanwhile, Bronny stated that he never expected to score his first basket against his father’s former team.
“It was insane. Much more than I anticipated for sure. It was a nice moment,” he said.
“The chants really got me. I was straight-faced but I felt it. It felt pretty good, especially coming from here. It was a special moment for me.”
LeBron’s NBA career began with the Cavaliers where he was selected as the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft. He spent seven years before returning in 2014, winning the NBA championship in 2016.
