NBA: Kings’ coach Mike Brown fined $35,000 for ‘aggressively pursuing official’

Former Nigeria coach Mike Brown wins NBA Coach of the Year award

Sacramento Kings head coach Mike Brown has been fined $35,000 for misconduct, Joe Dumars, NBA Executive Vice President and Head of Basketball Operations, announced on Tuesday.

Brown has been sanctioned for aggressively chasing after an official during their 108-103 loss to the Brooklyn Nets at Golden 1 Center on Sunday night.

The 54-year-old was given a technical foul at the 7:13 mark of the third quarter with the Nets holding a 19-point lead. Brown was visibly angry, chasing after the official after guard Colby Jones was not awarded a foul on his drive to the basket.

The former Golden State Warriors assistant was not suspended for his misconduct against Brooklyn, which means that he will be on the sideline when the Kings head to Target Center to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night as they look to snap a four-game losing streak.
