The Golden State Warriors have acquired point guard Dennis Schroder in a trade with the Brooklyn Nets, the teams announced Sunday.
The Warriors, who will get the 31-year-old Schroder as well as a 2025 second-round draft pick, will send injured guard De’Anthony Melton as well as undrafted rookie Reece Beekman along with three unprotected second-round draft picks to Brooklyn.

Schroder led Germany to triumph at the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, and has averaged 18.4 points, 6.6 assists, and 1.1 steals in 33.6 minutes per game this season for the Nets, who are 10th in the Eastern Conference.
He played a total of 52 games for Brooklyn following a trade from the Toronto Raptors in February and departs the Barclays Centre averaging 16.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 6.3 assists across 32.7 minutes per game.
Golden State (14-11) will become Schroder’s eighth team in 12 NBA seasons, following stints with the Hawks, Thunder, Lakers, Boston, Toronto, and Houston.

Melton, however, will not feature for the Nets this season as he continues to recover from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear in his left knee and has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
The 26-year-old played six times for the Warriors this season and departs with averages of 10.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.2 steals in 20.2 minutes per game.
