NBA: Clipper’s Harden joins Stephen Curry as only players to make 3,000 3-pointers

Los Angeles Clippers guard James Harden has joined Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry (3,810) as the only players to reach 3,000 career 3-pointers in NBA history, Afrosport reports.

Harden, who now has 3,004 3-pointers, achieved the feat in the first half of the Clippers’ 126-122 win over the Denver Nuggets on Sunday night.

The 10-time NBA All-Star, who led the Clippers with 39 points, nine rebounds, and 11 assists, converted three 3s in the first half before adding three more in the second.

“Another one of those accomplishments that you never take for granted,” said Harden. “The amount of work that I’ve put in — countless days and nights where I put the work in — a lot of people don’t see it but the results happen, so I’m just thankful.”

Harden, who was just one rebound shy of a triple-double, has enjoyed a dominant week, which kicked off with a 43-point display in the Clippers’ win at the Washington Wizards.

Against Washington, he finished with his most points as a Clipper and joined the trio of Wilt Chamberlain, Kobe Bryant, and Michael Jordan as the only players to have recorded 40 or more points at least 100 times in their careers.

Harden is currently averaging 22.3 points per game, 7.2 rebounds, 8.9 assists, and 1.7 steals in 22 games this season.

The Clippers are 13-9 without All-Star forward Kawhi Leonard, who has yet to play this season due to inflammation in his surgically repaired right knee, and they sit seventh in the Western Conference Standings.
