The Cleveland Cavaliers became the sixth team in NBA history to start a season 13-0 following a 114-106 win against the Philadelphia 76ers at Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday night, Afrosport reports.
Donovan Mitchell, the star of the show, was one assist shy of a triple-double, finishing with 23 points, 13 rebounds, and nine assists. He scored 11 of his 23 points in the final three minutes of the game.

Darius Garland led Cleveland with 25 points; Evan Mobley had 14 points; and Jarrett Allen added 11 points and 12 rebounds as they won 13 games in a row for the fourth time in franchise history (previously 2009, 2010, and 2017) and the first time without LeBron James in the team.
Philadelphia, without Paul George and Joel Embiid, got much of its points from rookie Jared McCain, who had a career-high 34 as well as 10 assists. Kelly Oubre Jr. had 20 points, while Caleb Martin added 18 for the Sixers.

Elsewhere, the San Antonio Spurs, who were without head coach Gregg Popovich for the seventh straight game, rolled past the Washington Wizards 139-130 at Frost Bank Center.
Victor Wembanyama had a career night as he finished with a career-high 50 points and eight 3-pointers as San Antonio won their second straight and improved to 6-6 for the season.

The Frenchman was 6-for-16 on 3s as he made at least six 3-pointers for the third straight game to beat his previous career-high of 49 points in a 130-126 overtime victory over New York.
Wembanyama, at 20 years and 314 days, became the fourth-youngest player to score 50 points, behind only Brandon Jennings (20y 52d), LeBron James (20y 80d), and Devin Booker (20y 145d).

Devin Vassell added 17 points from the bench; Julian Champagnie had 12; and the trio of Harrison Barnes, Stephon Castle, and Blake Wesley finished with 10 points apiece.
Meanwhile, Jordan Poole scored a season-high 42 points for the Wizards, who lost their sixth straight game. Corey Kisper settled for 19 points off the bench, and Jonas Valanciunas had 16 points and 13 rebounds in 22 minutes.

At the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, LeBron James came up big with a 35-point, 12-rebound, and 14-assist triple-double to lead the Lakers to a 128-123 win against the Memphis Grizzlies.
The 39-year-old recorded his third straight triple-double to put the Lakers, who won their third straight game, at 7-4.

Anthony Davis had his fifth double-double of the season, finishing with 21 points and 14 rebounds; Rui Hachimura and rookie Dalton Knecht got 19 points apiece; and Austin Reaves added 18.
Jaren Jackson Jr. led Memphis with 29 points, while Santi Aldama, Scotty Pippen Jr., and Marcus Smart all poured in 15 points apiece for the Grizzlies, whose three-game unbeaten run came to an end.
In the other games, Orlando Magic topped the Indiana Pacers 94-90; Boston Celtics beat Brooklyn Nets 139-114; Chicago Bulls beat New York Knicks 124-123; OKC Thunder beat the New Orleans Pelicans 106-88; Milwaukee Bucks overcame the Detroit Pistons 127-120 in overtime.
