Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey is heading for some time on the sidelines having picked up a right hamstring injury that will keep him out for a “couple of weeks”, Afrosport reports.
The Sixers confirmed on Thursday that the 24-year-old has sustained a hamstring strain and will be reevaluated in one week.
Maxey suffered the injury on Wednesday night, during Philadelphia’s 110-98 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers at the Intuit Dome, their sixth defeat of the season.

The 2024 NBA Most Improved Player leads the Sixers with 27.6 points as well as a league-high 39.7 minutes played per game.
Maxey’s latest injury setback is obviously not what the Sixers organisation wants and/or needs, as they only recently got Paul George back and are expecting All-Star center Joel Embiid to make his debut next Tuesday in their NBA Cup opener.
George, who scored 18 points against his former team, the Clippers, has managed only two games this season after sustaining a bone bruise injury on his left knee during preseason.
The 76ers (1-6) have lost four straight games and will have to contend with the Los Angeles Lakers (4-4) in Friday night’s game at the Crypto.com Arena.
