Barcelona and Spain wonderkid Lamine Yamal will be unavailable for Spain in their UEFA Nations League ties against Denmark and Switzerland after sustaining a hamstring injury, Afrosport reports.
The winger did not feature In Barca’s 1-0 loss to Real Sociedad on Sunday night due to an ankle injury he sustained against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League.
“Tests performed on the morning of Monday 11 November have revealed that Lamine Yamal has a grade one syndesmosis injury in his right ankle. He is expected to be out of action for between two and three weeks,” Barcelona said in a statement.
The Spanish FA (RFEF) announced that Girona’s attacking midfielder Bryan Gil will replace Yamal.
The 17-year-old has been firing for the Blaugrana with six goals and eight assists in 16 apperances this season.

He also has three goals and nine assists in 17 caps for Spain. He came eighth in the 2024 Ballon d’Or ranking and also won the Kopa award for the best young player.
Spain will have big names such as Dani Carvajal, Rodri and Lucas Vazquez miss out due to injuries.
