Fierce European rivals Italy and Spain have been drawn together in the semi-finals of the UEFA Nations League.
The Azzurri missed out on qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup after losing to North Macedonia in the play-offs but did well during the group phase of the Nations League, finishing top in Group 3 of League A ahead of Hungary, Germany and England.
La Roja meanwhile, topped Group 2 ahead of Portugal, Switzerland and Czech Republic.
Both teams met in the semi-finals of the previous Nations League edition with Spain winning 2-1 as the Italians finished with 10 men but they went on to lose 2-1 to France in the final at the San Siro Stadium.
The other semi-final will be contested between the Netherlands and Croatia.
The Oranje topped Group 4 and are making it into the Nations League semi-finals for the second time after ending up as runners-up in the inaugural edition, losing to Portugal. It will be another opportunity for the Dutch to lift their first international trophy since winning the 1988 European Championship.
The Blazers are making their first ever Nations League semi-final appearance after topping Group 1 ahead of Denmark, France and Austria.
Croatia are yet to win an international trophy in their 31-year existence but they have done well at major tournaments such as the World Cup where they finished fourth, second and most recently third at the 2022 edition in Qatar.
