Kylian Mbappe is delighted to be reunited with the France squad as he prepares to earn his first international cap in six months against Croatia in the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals, Afrosport reports.
Mbappe missed the October international break due to injury and as well as the November window after Les Bleus boss Didier Deschamps opted to rest him after his early struggle for form at new club Real Madrid.
The 26-year-old was also at the centre of a scandal after Swedish media linked him to a rape investigation.
The case was however closed in December without any prosecution.
“I feel good, I feel happy to be playing football, I feel happy to be here,” the French captain said.
“Most of the teammates who are here, we talk pretty much all the time. I go on holiday with some of them. It’s a pleasure to be here.
“The situation may have been unclear to people outside, but it’s always been clear internally.”
“A career is not linear. You have to refocus on what makes you happy and get back to work. If I had to do things differently? I would have played better.”
