The gun state government has officially unveiled communication materials for the 22nd National Sports Festival (NSF) tagged Gateway Games 2024, Afrosport reports.
The materials include the Games’ logo, theme song and mascot.
The unveiling took place on Tuesday night at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Abeokuta where the state government assured of a befitting festival.
The logo is mainly in Ogun State theme colours of lemon Green and yellow. The theme song is titled ‘E kaabo’, a Yoruba word for welcome.
The Ogun state Governor, Dapo Abiodun who was represented by his deputy, Noimot-Salako Oyedele, said the state is beyond ready to raise the bar significantly, close to two decades that it last hosted the multi sports event.
He said the mascot reflects the energy and cultural heritage of the people of Ogun State, and urged citizens to actively participate and also welcome guests with love and kindness before, during and after the games.
The 2024 National Sports Festival is scheduled to get underway on May 16 and will run through to May 30 at different venues in Abeokuta, Ikenne and Ilisan.
