Samuel Adeniran scored but was also sent off as St. Louis City drew 2-2 with Los Angeles Galaxy in Major League Soccer action at Dignity Health Sports Park on Sunday.
The Missouri outfit led by South African manager Bradley Carnell have lately struggled for points on the road, losing at Orlando City and Sporting Kansas City since returning from Leagues Cup action.
Things however seemed to sweep in St. Louis’ favour when Adeniran scored from close range off an assist from Jared Stroud in the fourth minute. It was the 24-year-old’s seventh league goal of the season and the first time he scored in back-to-back games after netting in the 2-1 loss at Sporting Kansas City last time out.

Carnell’s side doubled their lead in the 28th minute from a fine counter attacking move that was finished off by Brazilian forward Joao Klauss.
LA Galaxy pulled one back through former FC Barcelona midfielder Riqui Puig from the penalty spot in the 52rd minute after VAR review adjudged Adeniran to have handled the ball in the box and was issued a yellow card. The American-Nigerian’s dream went from bad to worse after he was given a second yellow card for a clumsy challenge on Puig on the hour mark.
First card was in the 52' (handball).

St Louis tried to hang to their narrow lead with 10 men but failed to do so as substitute Billy Sharp equalised for the Galaxy with a simple tap in from close range in the 82nd minute.
The result was St. Louis’ first away point since a 1-0 win at Toronto FC on July 9. They will however have to do without Adeniran in their next trip to Houston Dynamo as he serves an automatic one-match ban.
Carnell’s team remain top of the West Conference, seven points clear of Seattle Sounders.
