Bentaleb cleared to return to action with Lille after cardiac arrest

Yankuba Minteh is dreaming of European football with Brighton & Hove Albion after scoring a brace in their 3-0 Premier League win over Chelsea at the Amex Stadium on Friday night, Afrosport reports.

Japan winger Kaoru Mitoma put the Seagulls ahead in the 27th minute with a clinical finish after he was assisted by goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen.

Minteh then scored his brace the 38th and 63rd minute with the assists coming from Danny Welbeck.

It took Minteh’s tally to five goals and two assists in the Premier League with Brighton moving up to eighth and four points within an European qualification spot. When asked if he was dreaming about it, the Gambian said: Yes. Dreaming.”

Reflecting on his time at Brighton since he signed from Newcastle United last season, he said: “I think the compactness of the team was good and the team always communicate with me and push me.

“I think everybody has helped me a lot. I went to Feyenoord and played one year and now I am back in the Premier League everything is going well.”

Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler also spoke of Minteh’s improvement which is giving him more game time: “I think he tries to improve in every aspect of the game. Defensive work is key and the attacking players have to be part of it. When you commit to the team, I am convinced you will get the chances in the transition and he did.”

Brighton’s win over Chelsea was back-to-back after knocking them out of the FA Cup last weekend.

They also avoided a three-game losing streak in the league after losing 7-0 to Nottingham Forest in their previous match.
