Michael Folorunsho completes Cagliari loan move from Napoli

Michael Folorunsho has officially completed a loan move from Serie A champions Napoli to Cagliari with the option to buy at the end of the 2025-26 season, Afrosport reports.

The 27-year-old Italy international was on loan at Fiorentina in the second half of the previous season, making 19 appearances in all competitions and providing one assist.

He has also spent time on loan at Bari, Pordenone, Hellas Verona having failed to establish himself at Napoli since joining from Virtus Francavilla in 2019.

He featured seven times for the Partenopei las term, six of them in the Serie A but only amounting to a total of just 31 minutes.

Folorunsho however played 72 minutes in Napoli’s 3-1 defeat to Lazio in the Coppa Italia round of 16.


The central midfielder will now have the opportunity to further his career at Cagliari that finished 15th in the Serie A last season, five points clear of the relegation zone.

The Sardinian club will start their campaign in the Coppa Italia first round on August 16 before facing Fiorentina in their Serie A on August 24.
