Marmoush calls on Man City to remain focused in top four challenge

‘He always gives his 100%’ – Galatasaray’s Akgun waxes lyrical about Osimhen

Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush has called on his teammates to remain focused in their quest to finish in the Premier League top four, Afrosport reports.

The Egyptian was on the scoresheet as City played out a 2-2 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

The result saw City fail to move back into fourth place on the table and remain fifth, one point behind Chelsea.

“It’s a challenge but we will do everything,” Marmoush said.

“We will put our head down and try to work as hard as we can. Always when we’re on pitch give 100% and hopefully in the end we will secure that place.

“We have to try show our quality more, have more confidence on the ball, keep the ball more and just do what Manchester City always did.”

Reflecting on the performance against Brighton, Marmoush said: “It’s difficult scoring my first goal in front of the [home] fans and we’re losing, it’s not good enough and we need to do better as a team and individually.

“We had a good start in the first 20 minutes but it’s difficult to explain this loss because we’re playing on our home ground and we had the feeling we were going to beat Wolves. You could see we were the better team, even though we lost. It’s just not good enough.

“For the fans, for the team it’s good to get the goal, but we lost, I’m not really pleased because we have to win this game and it’s very disappointing.”

Mamoush has now scored four Premier League goals in seven games since completing his £59 million transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt in January.
