Maresca insists on Chelsea improvement despite poor run of results

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca believes his team have improved despite their current poor run of results, Afrosport reports.

The Blues lost 3-1 away at Manchester City on Saturday evening which was their third loss in their last seven league games, with only one win in that time.

It has seen them fall behind in the title race as they are now 13 points behind leaders Liverpool and have also fallen out of the top four with City’s win pushing them up.

“In my opinion, we are a better team that one month ago or two months ago because in this kind of moment, these kind of games, for sure they are going to make us better because we need to live this experience,” Maresca said.

“I said two weeks ago, from now on, we can be third, we can be fourth, fifth or sixth…the games until the end [of the season] now can change [our position] a little bit.

“The good thing is that we are focused and we are trying to improve game after game.”

Chelsea will hope to get back to winning ways when they host London rivals West Ham United at Stamford Bridge next Monday.
