Manchester City have completed the signing of Uzbek defender Abdukodir Khusanov on a four-and-a-half-year deal worth a reported £33.6 million, Afrosport reports.
The 20-year-old centre-back joined Lens from from Belarusian club Energetik-BGU in the summer of 2023 and played 24 times for the Ligue 1 outfit including 16 this season.
Khusanov becomes the first player from Uzbekistan to play in the Premier League and is ready for the challenge ahead with the six-time champions.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Manchester City, a club that I have enjoyed watching for a long time,” he told the club website.
“This squad is full of the best players in the world, and I can’t wait to meet them and play alongside them.
“And of course Pep Guardiola is one of the greatest coaches ever and I am so excited to learn from him and improve my game even more.

Man City are keen to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window after their recent drop in form and have been linked with Douglas Luiz, Martin Zubimendi and Bruno Guimaraes from Juventus, Real Sociedad and Newcastle United respectively.
