Manchester City have announced the signing of Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace on a five-and-a-half-yeardeal, Afrosport reports.

The 25-year-old Ivory Coast-born England defender had six months left to run on his contract at Selhurst Park. He was close to joining Liverpool in the last summer transfer window but the deal collapsed on deadline day.

Guehi’s arrival comes at a very crucial time as City boss Pep Guardiola has lost centre-backs Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol to injury.

“I am really happy and incredibly proud to be a Manchester City player,” he told the club website.

“This move feels like the culmination of all the hard work I have put into my career. I am now at the best club in England and part of an unbelievable squad of players. It feels good to be able to say that.

“I want to grow as a player and a person, and I know at this club that’s going to happen.

“I love football – it has given me so much for so long – and to be able to continue my development at Manchester City is a really special moment for me and my family.

“I absolutely cannot wait to get started now. I want to meet my teammates, train hard, understand what the manager expects of me and then show the City fans what I can do.”

Guehi began his career at Chelsea in 2019 and had two loan spells at Swansea City before signing for Crystal Palace in 2021.

He featured 188 times for the Eagles in all competitions, scoring 11 goals, providing eight assists and captaining them to FA Cup and Community Shield success in 2025.
