Man Utd legend Keane compares Arsenal match-winner Nketiah to Ian Wright

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has heaped praises on Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah after his double in the Gunners’ 3-2 win in Sunday’s Premier League match against his former club.

Keane applauded Nketiah’s movements and drew a comparison to former footballer and Arsenal legend Ian Wright, who found the back of the net 185 times during his time with the Gunners.

“He [Nketiah] reminds me in his movement and even his interviews – and I’m going to put him under huge pressure here – of Ian Wright. Like he used to do, not getting many touches but that sharpness in the box, which we see as well for the winning goal. If you’re hanging around the box and you’re a sharp striker, you’ll get your chances and your goals,” Keane told Sky Sports.

Nketiah scored a brace as Premier League leaders Arsenal and Manchester United rekindled their age-long rivalry in a five-goal thriller at the Emirates Stadium. The two goals took his tally for the season to nine, making him Arsenal’s leading scorer this season.

The former England under-21 striker continues to impress in the absence of Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus, as Arsenal secured all three points in a 3-2 win over the Red Devils.

Nketiah’s goal was the first time an Arsenal player scored a 90th-minute winner against Manchester United in the Premier League since Thierry Henry in January 2007.

The defeat saw the Red Devils slip to fourth place, while Arsenal continued atop the league standings, 11 points above United and five points above their closest opponent, Manchester City.
