Man Utd handed triple injury boost ahead of Europa League final

Manchester United have been handed a huge boost ahead of the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur as three players returned from injury and participated in Tuesday’s team training.

United will battle Tottenham at Bilbao’s San Mames on Wednesday for a chance to win another European title and qualify for next season’s Champions League as well as salvage what has been a widely disappointing campaign.

With the team completing their final training session at Carrington before jetting out to Bilbao, Ruben Amorim’s side welcomed the trio of Josha Zirkzee, Diogo Dalot and Leny Yoro back from injury.

The trio were all initially doubtful for the final, but such fears have been allayed as they were all pictured partaking in training with the rest of their teammates.

Dalot, who has played 51 matches in all competitions for United this season, has been out with a calf injury since April and last played in a 1-0 home defeat to Wolves.

Zirkzee’s return comes as a shock, as the Dutchman had been ruled out of the remainder of the season after sustaining a hamstring injury during United’s 4-1 loss at Newcastle United last month.

Yoro, meanwhile, was forced off with a foot injury in United’s 2-0 defeat to West Ham United at Old Trafford on 11 May, forcing him to miss Friday’s 1-0 loss at Chelsea.

It is yet to be decided if the three United stars will play any part in the final in Bilbao, but their return to fitness provides Amorim with sufficient options to call on, seeing as United have endured a depleted bench in recent weeks.

The Red Devils, 16th in the Premier League, will be hoping to win another silverware, their third in the last three seasons, and bring a happy end to a very tumultuous season, statistically their worst in decades.
