Man United’s Amad Diallo to miss Brentford trip after family loss

Amad Diallo will miss Manchester United’s Premier League trip to Brentford due to the loss in his family, Afrosport reports.

The Ivory Coast international has played in all the Red Devils’ games this season, providing an assist in the 3-2 win over Burnley before the September international break.

He will now be given the time off, with United head coach Ruben Amorim saying ahead of the game that football was not important to the former Atalanta player at this time.

Amad recently came under scrutiny on social media after he interacted with a post by former teammate Alejandro Garnacho, now at Chelsea, in last week’s 2-1 win over the Blues at Old Trafford.

The 23-year-old deleted all social media posts in reaction, and Amorim pointed out why it is better for players to stay off social media.

“I always tell my players: shut down social media,” Amorim said.

“Nowadays it is a price you have to pay, but the important thing is that the club and the friends, real life for Amad, we are here for him.

“It is a tough moment for him, and in this moment, the next game is not important. We can win this game without Amad, and we want to win it for him.”

United are currently in 11th place after five games, three points away from the top four.
