Man United winning streak ends with draw at West Ham

Manchester United’s streak of four wins in a row under head coach Michael Carrick came to an end following Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at West Ham United, Afrosport reports.

The Red Devils clinched victories against Manchester City, Arsenal, Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur under Carrick’s watch after he replaced Ruben Amorim last month.

United however fell behind to West Ham at the London Stadium when Czech midfielder Tomas Soucek scored from close range in the 50th minute.

West Ham were resolute in protecting their lead and despite a Casemiro goal ruled out for offside by VAR and a penalty appeal that was waved away, Carrick’s men finally levelled deep in added time when substitute Benjamin Sesko flicked the ball in off an assist from Cameroon forward Bryan Mbeumo.


The result sees them maintain fourth spot, one point ahead of fifth-placed Chelsea who squandered a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Leeds United at Stamford Bridge.

In other results on Tuesday, Morocco’s Amine Adil scored the winner as Bournemouth defeated 10-man Everton 2-1 at Hill Dickinson Stadium while Jacob Ramsey scored the winning goal in Newcastle United’s 2-1 win away at struggling Tottenham Hotspur.
