Marcus Rashford is hopeful to remain at Barcelona after his loan spell from Manchester United comes to an end, Afrosport reports.
The 27-year-old England forward has had a great start to life in Catalonia with five goals and six assists in 12 competitive games, his most recent being a brace and an assist in the 6-1 bashing of Olympiacos in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
Rashford’s loan with the Blaugrana runs until the end of the season with an option to buy him for around €40 million.
He has a contract with Man United until 2028, but his future at Old Trafford looks uncertain after falling out with manager Ruben Amorim.
When asked by ESPN if he wants to remain at Barcelona, he said: “For sure. I’m enjoying this football club and I think for anybody who loves football, Barcelona is one of the key clubs in the history of the game. For a player it is an honour.”
He added “People forget this, but 23 years of my life was with Manchester United. So sometimes you just need a change. I think maybe this is the case with me and I’m enjoying everything.”
