Kobbie Mainoo is aiming for more consistency in his form after netting his first Premier League goal in Manchester United’s 4-3 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday night.
The Red Devils surrendered a 3-1 lead in late in the game but Mainoo stepped up to score the winner deep in added time to give Erik ten Hag’s side all the three points.
It was another Man of the Match performance from the 18-year-old Anglo-Ghanaian who is the club’s Player of the Month and has continued to receive rave reviews for his mature and composed performances.
“I’ve still not come down from it, I still feel like I’m dreaming to be honest,” Kobbie said about scoring his first Premier League goal. “It’s such a tough place to come, they’ve had a good home run here, so we had to get the win.
“To start playing in the Premier League for my boyhood club has been amazing.
“Now [I am] just trying to get a good run of games in, win more games and get real momentum going.”
Ten Hag said of Mainoo: “He is making incredible progress. He has great abilities, he is the modern midfield player. He can defend and attack but also he has the physicality to do both ways. He is also composed.”

The United academy graduate scored his first competitive goal in the 4-2 win over Newport County in the FA Cup fourth round last weekend.
