Alexis Mac Allister wants Liverpool to help Mohamed Salah produce more goals and assists after the Egyptian did so in Wednesday’s 2-2 Premier League draw with Aston Villa, Afrosport reports.
The goal and his assist for Diego Jota took Salah’s tally to 49 (29 goals, 20 assists) in 37 competitive games this season.
He leads the Premier League scorers chart with 24 goals and 15 assists and set a new record with 15 goals away from home, breaking Luis Suarez’s record of 14 during the 2013-14 campaign.
The 32-year-old is also the first player since Lionel Messi for Barcelona during the 2014-15 campaign to score and assist in 10 different games in any of Europe’s top five leagues in one season.
“We are really happy with him because we know how important he is for the team, and we want to help him get the most goals and assists he can,” Mac Allister said.
“Hopefully we can keep working, we can keep making those runs for him to pick those passes. Really happy for him.”
