Atalanta could try to sell Ademola Lookman during the January transfer window, Afrosport reports.
The Nigeria international has been an integral part of La Dea since he arrived from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2022, helping the Bergamo outfit to their historic Europa League title last season when he scored a hat-trick in the final against Bayer Leverkusen.
He became the subject of a transfer interest after the UEFA Super Cup loss to Real Madrid. He was muted to be on the move to Paris Saint-Germain and was left out of Atalanta’s Serie A opener against Lecce.
No move however materialised as Atalanta were unwilling to sell him because it was too close to the end of the summer window and there was not enough time to get a replacement.
According to Sky Sports Deutschland, Lookman, who is among the nominees for the 2024 Ballon d’Or, wants to leave Gewiss Stadium and could be released in January for a fee of just €30 million.
The 26-year-old has three goals and as many assists in seven competitive games. He also scored twice in the Super Eagles’ 3-0 win over Benin in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers last month.
