Liverpool manager Arne Slot has praised Mohamed Salah’s status of being a role model to younger players at the club.
The Egypt International has been involved in the goals in pre-season, first assisting Dominik Szoboszlai in the 1-0 win over Real Betis before scoring in a 2-1 win over Arsenal.
Slot however said it was not only Salah’s job to be an example to the younger players but the rest of the senior squad.
“Yes, but I don’t think he’s only this for this season: he has been that for several years,” the Dutch tactician said.
“He came back really fit, but from what’s been told to me that’s normal for him. He always comes back really fit. But if I only use Mo as an example, I would not be fair to the other [senior] guys because the others are strong and fit as well.
“One of the main positive things until now is all the boys are fit, we have no injuries at all, so we hope we can continue like this and their fitness levels go up and up more…”

Liverpool will face two more pre-season fixtures against fierce rivals Manchester United and Sevilla before starting the new Premier League season against newly-promoted Ipswich Town on August 17.
