Lazio manager Marco Baroni has tipped Fisayo Dele-Bashiru to be a great player after he starred in their 3-0 away win over Dynamo Kyiv on Wednesday night, Afrosport reports.
The Nigerian midfielder scored the second goal in the 34th minute after receiving Matias Vecino’s defence-splitting pass before turning provider for Senegal forward Boulaye Dia who completed a brace.
It was the first goal and assist for Dele-Bashiru in the colours of Lazio since completing a loan move from Turkish side Hatayspor in the summer.
“When I say that he needs to be built, I mean that he must focus more on tactics and how to fill the game rather than only when the ball is at his feet,” Baroni said as per Football Italia.
“Once he gets that, Dele-Bashiru will become a great modern midfielder.”

Meanwhile, Dia says he is ready to do his best for Lazio with his brace also being his first for the club after completing a loan move from Salernitana.
“I worked hard, because last season was not easy for me, but I want to do my best possible work, score and help the team win the game,” the Senegal forward said.
“We lost last Sunday against Fiorentina and it was important to turn the page straight away. We play every three days, there is no time to think about defeat.
“This evening we played well, scored three goals and then controlled the situation.”
Dia joined Salernitana permanently from Villarreal last summer after spending the 2022-23 season on loan and scored 16 goals in 33 Serie A games.
