Sevilla on Sunday sacked head coach Francisco Garcia Pimienta after a fourth consecutive defeat in La Liga, Afrosport reports.
Sevilla suffered a 1-0 defeat at Valencia on Friday in the opening game of matchday 31, which had the team 13th in the league standings with 36 points after 31 games.
The Andalusian club are far off from securing a spot in any of the European competitions next season but sit just seven points above the relegation zone with seven more games to go.
“Sevilla would like to thank Garcia Pimienta for his work during these months, as well as for his professionalism, wishing him the best of luck in his future challenges,” the club said in a statement.

Garcia Pimienta replaced Quique Sanchez Flores at Sevilla, signing a two-year deal in June 2024. The 50-year-old has led Sevilla to just one win in their last seven matches, including losing their derby clash against rivals Real Betis on 30 March.
Meanwhile, the Spanish club swiftly announced the appointment of Joaquin Caparros as head coach until the end of the season.

The 69-year-old previously coached Sevilla between 2000 and 2005 and has been appointed as caretaker on two previous occasions in the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons.
His first game in charge will be a crunch tie against Deportivo Alavés at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium in La Liga on 20 April.
